Captain of Archers (Keith as Deputy on behalf of Arden):

  • Keith has bought some new archery targets and is not seeking reimbursement for these. He was advised that equipment that is needed can be considered for funding.

  • Will be using hessian material as backing for archery target area. Budget of up to $150 proposed by Melissa, seconded by Dave and approved unanimously.

  • Need for further materials will be considered as the practices continue.

Armoured Combat Marshal (Trent as Deputy on behalf of Chloe):

  • Chloe is happy for Trent to continue as deputy

  • Heavy is running as usual after the summer break. Rapier warm-up exercises are occurring. No injuries have been reported.

  • Tournament at the Hardy Centre was well attended

 Seneschal (Nathaniel):

  • Nathaniel’s term as Seneschal will be ending soon and Sue will take it on from St Sebastian’s. Nathaniel will do handover tomorrow and take the role of Deputy at first.

Upcoming events:

St Sebastian’s

  • Lizzi has cancelled her booking after bookings closed for health reasons. She had not paid and it was agreed that payment can be waived in this case.

  • Keith will provide the archery targets and run the competition.

  • There is potential for someone to turn up at the gate who hasn’t paid. If they have not been in touch and have not paid, they need to be advised that they will be turned around. There is one offer of sponsorship but no requests for assistance to date. The possibility of financial assistance via B&B needs to be made clear.

  • Some discussion of practicalities occurred.

Dumpling Feast

  • Melissa and Chloe plan to run a feast in June or July

  • An alternative to the Hardy Centre may be required for this and Netty mentioned that the Baptist Church could be a possible venue

Waldorf Medieval Faire will be on Sunday 15th March

  • Trent asked if anyone is interested in attending. This will be asked about at St Sebs.
  • Abi has a gazebo that could be used but would need a lift
  • Nathaniel motioned that the club provides gear as needed, seconded by Melissa and approved by all

Dance event being planned in Whangarei by Hereby, possibly in May or June

General Business

  • A pot has been donated to the group by Arden

  • A costume hire business has donated two bags of clothing. This will be reviewed for adding to Gold Key loaner garb or being otherwise disposed of. Sue requested a review of the current Gold Key alongside the new items, and a working party will do this tomorrow.
