A&S (Sitheach)
Been ill – A&S display at St Sebastians. Also display of A&S at the Hamilton Gardens event last Sunday. Chloe brought painting/calligraphy. There was scribal, leatherwork, eastern calligraphy, handsewing, embroidery (Jane of Ildhafn). Didn’t have things that people to have a go at, but had a lot of good engagement.
Reeve (Aethelred)
Absent, but reimbursements now getting sorted
Marshal (Dominego)
Advertised for new marshal. Fighting has been happening at St Sebs and Hamilton Gardens event. Demo coming up at Waldorf. Fighters may go to Ildhafn’s Marshal academy
Seneshal (Nathanael)
St Sebastians happened – was successful overall. One twisted ankle in a hole on the site gounds. Netty will be deputy reeve for a couple months; need password reset, advised she’d discuss with Richard about access.
Upcoming events:
Monthly Bash – cancelled due to conflict with LARP event many fighters are attending
Waldorf School - Set up from ~8am. Need to touch base with organiser about whether or not will be under cover
- One volunteer by e-mail outside of council members – can probably do some archery
- Need activities with participation
- Archery
- Calligraphy
- Flint & steel firelighting – Ed has done in previous years. Melissa has flax tow which can be used. If we want to do this, need to discuss health & safety with site
- Leather tooling – Liz has leather tooling devices – need more mallets. Nathanael can lend one
Have-A-Go-Day
- Provisionally approved venue booking for 26th via e-mail
- Possibly moving from 26th of April to 10th of May due to multiple conflicts
- Need event bid to approve – to follow up with Florence
Other business:
Promotional material. Got enough pulled together for the Hamilton Gardens demo. Need more pamphlets, promotional material
- A4 poster for poeple to scan? If we do one, Rudiger can print for visitors to scan
Canvas:
Working with Sympkin to Have gotten quotes from multiple suppliers. Sunforger has limited availability in fire retardant 60” as fire retardant has been classed as a carcinogen/mutagen in US. RhinoTuff is another option with fire retardant. Quotes are in the USD11-12/yd
- Melissa motions to approve purchase of $3500 of 60” 10.2oz cotton canvas with fire retardant Maerwyn seconds. Approved unanimously.
- Rudiger to investigate if Hamilton Canvas can import RhinoTuff
- Melissa to ask Ialnulf about RhinoTuff
