Cluain Council Minutes Date: 19/10/2024

19 October 2024 (didn't make quorum in September)

Meeting started at 3:40pm

Present: Ed, Bess, Nathanael, Melissa, Dominego, Maerwyn, Rudiger, Aelynora, Saga, Sitheach

Ed motions to accept the minutes from the previous meeting. Trent seconds. Passed unanimously.

A&S – Sitheach. Submitted report. Will be stuff happening at Labour weekend (pottery, etc). Some people are making award cords for Kingdom. Ildhafn is running A&S challenge, some entries already. Some Cluain members attended calligraphy workshop in Ildhafn.

Marshal – Dominego. Practices have been intermittent due to weather, injuries, and weddings. Might be marshal training at Labour Weekend. Update to Marshal’s and Fighter’s handbooks. Fencing is not happening anymore. Have two fiberglass swords and two masks. Emrys purchased some blades with Ildhafn

Reeve – Aethelred. Absent. Balance was $8306.45 according to Xero in the old account. Payments for Labour weekend are going into new account. Motion to transfer the old money into new account put forward by Nathanael, seconded by Dominego, passed unanimously.

Scheneshal – Nathanael. Need to advertise for a new reeve. Done quarterly report for Cluain. Probably didn’t give accurate figure for account funds, but noted it in report. Florence has submitted paperwork but not got a login for the new account. At present, Rudiger, Aethelred and Florence are signatories.

General business

Interest in Cluain doing a demo again at Hamilton Gardens next March

Waldorf demo may also be happening in March

Just over 50 bookings for Labour Weekend. Their Excellencies will be tested on their ability so sort the weather for the weekend.

Labour Weekend has popped over $5000. Box needs to get ticked for group’s insurance to advise them of the event.

Marshal Arts Training Symposium will be held in May next year.

If we want to do a Have A Go day, it should be in April next year. Will ask for expressions of interest.

Awnings are looking a bit tired and may need to be replaced at some stage. Could cost $3000. Might have to be synthetic unless we can import from overseas. May follow up with Sympkin about importing about importing for our local group. Darton imported some canvas recently – Melissa will contact Kjartan about how they went importing canvas for Darton (ideally 5-foot wide canvas)

Melissa to go through previous meeting minutes to look for approved actions & spending and create a table of actions for upcoming meetings.
