Cluain Council Minutes Date: 17/08/2024

17 Aug 2024 (didn't make quorum in June or July)

Meeting started at 2:19pm

Present: Nathanael, Melissa, Ed, Bess, Rudiger, Alyenora, Florence, Gerard, Saga, Sithech, Dominego, Maerwyn

Motion to accept the previous meeting minutes raised by Nathalael, seconded by Sithech, passed unanimously.

Officer Reports

Marshal (Dominego). Still having regular practices for both heavy and archery. Fencing is still on hold due to Emrys’ availability. Put through quarterly report. Down one authorized member (Albert). Aethelred moving away.

A&S (Sithech). New officer! Still learning about the role.

Reeve (Aethelred, in absentia): Will need to advertise for a new reeve as his warrant is up in Feb – also, with him moving away it might be prudent to advertise sooner rather than later.

Webright (seneschal): Sympkin (webright, Ildhafn) has offered to help with our weblists & moderation. Nathanael needs to get moderation permissions for the Cluain Council list.

Other business.

Lochac scribal database has been updated. There are a number of people who have AoAs who haven’t gotten their devices/names registered yet. Could be good to ask some people if they want to get some heraldry and names sorted so they can get their AoA scrolls. Christine received a bunch of scroll blanks, which can be done.

Ildhafn is considering collaborating with the Maker Space in the Auckland library. This could be a venue for low-impact workshops (like calligraphy!). There’s also a MakerSpace in the Hamilton Central Library.

Richard d’ Allier will be taking over as SCANZ treasurer, and will hopefully finally result in joined bank accounts under the SCANZ umbrella, potentially finally sorting the Ildhafn signatory issue, and meaning

We had a request for a last-minute reimbursement for cancellation of their booking to the Dumpling Feast as they had a work commitment; we also had a last-minute booking for the event. Melissa motions to reimburse them. Nathanael seconds. Passed unanimously.
