Spring Coronation

Come and join us as we celebrate and honour our new king and king consort!

Behold the splendour, the majesty and ceremony of Royal Courts. Witness the chivarly and heraldic display and honour of the King Consort's Champion Tourney. Eat like kings and queens at the Royal Feast. Enjoy yourselves and dance into the night as the musicians play after the feast.

Celebrate as Baron Rudiger and Baroness Alyenora are elevated to the noble Order of the Pelican.

October 28th to 30th at Braythwayte Manor on the northern shores of Lake Rotorua in the Cresent Isles.

Non-Members: If you are not currently a member of the SCA there is an additional $2 Event Membership fee for adults (18+)

Accommodation:

Camping areas for period and modern tents.

Campervans can be parked on site.

Off site accommodation: The site is located in Hamurana on the northern shore of Lake Rotorua approx 2km west of Hamurana Springs (You can request the physical address via the booking form).  There is a wide variety of accommodation types nearby to suit all budgets. The tourist town of Rotorua is about 20 mins away by car, however there are other places to stay closer to the site.

Food and Drink:

The event is fully catered. 

There will be a light supper available on Friday evening from 6pm. However this is not intended to be a main meal.

Breakfasts will include porridge, eggs, bacon and mushrooms and fresh fruit salad. Bread and butter. 

Lunches will be cold buffet style.

Saturday feast 

Snacks, tea, coffee, hot chocolate and cordial will be available free of charge in the Coffee House

Water on site is potable .

Drinks should be decanted into medieval looking vessels and any modern vessels should be kept out of sight.

Arts and Sciences Competition:

Why not create an entry for the Kingdom A&S competition that will be judged at Spring Coronation?

There are 3 topics that you can choose from for your entry: 'MARITIME'   'HEALTH'   'BEYOND EUROPE'

You can enter as part of a group effort, as a youth (under 18), a beginner, intermediate or experienced practitioner.

Entries are judged on 5 criteria; Workmanship, Authenticity, Interpretation, Complexity and Documentation.
