Officer Reports
Reeve – Nate: Bank balance is $6,013.82. Quarterly report submitted. The transition to Zero is underway in consultation with the Kingdom Treasurer.
Nate proposed Council closes off the Collegium and Labour Weekend events as there are no further outstanding payments, reimbursements or receipts for them.
Moved by Michelle. Seconded by Trent. Motion carried unanimously.
Marshall – Roger: Quarterly report submitted. Fighters practices are continuing. One less person is attending as they have moved back to Auckland. Armour making sessions are happening.
A&S – Michelle: An arts and sciences competition will be run at St Sebastians. Any item, song, dance, etc that starts with a “B” can be entered. Will continue to advertise and send out links on how to prepare documentation for the competition. To also advertise for assistance in marking the entries.
Chatelaine – Netty: No quarterly report submitted. Had a newcomer attend the Labour Weekend event for a few hours, they are interested in attending future SCA events.
Herald – Trent: Quarterly report submitted. In October 2019 Michelle’s name and device was registered in Lochac. Keith and Cheryl are still in the consultation phase of getting devices and names registered. Have booked for the Known World Heraldic & Scribal Symposium that runs in July 2020.
Webwright – Melissa: Have nothing to report.
Seneschal – Michelle: Medieval Faire at Hamilton Gardens - 22 March 2020 - A group of us have viewed the site and chosen where we will set up. In the centre of the Faire there will be a double cordoned off area for groups to hold activites/demonstrations for the public. eg: heavy fighting, musicians and dancing, fencing. Liz & Roger will take their tent and we can set up tables with various activities for the public to try. Will set up skittles near the tent.
Michelle to confirm Cluain’s attendance at Waldorf Medieval Carnival on 5 April 2020. Need to decide what activities we will run.
Would be great to have another couple of day events this year. The ones we ran last year were well attended and easier than weekend events for would-be Stewards to run.
David Whitby to take on the Quartermaster role from Netty as most of Cluain’s gear is stored on his property.
Moved by Michelle. Seconded by Netty. Motion carried unanimously.
St Sebastians – Sue sent an update. Bookings are currently at 38. There are six newcomers attending and one requires period clothing. Event setup will be on 29 February. Matilda is nearly complete.
Next Meeting: 21 March 2020 — 11 am — Memorial Park, Hamilton.
