Cluain Council Meeting 17^th June 2017

Present:               Liz Brodie, Sue Whitby, Roger Win, Dave Whitby (Ed), Alex Allison. Nathan & Ian Piddington part way through.

Upcoming events :

Midwinter Coronation  

• Sarah & Rob sent an update in their absence…

• Roger said that there are 105 bookings so far, with more bookings expected, including the 2 royal couples.

• Ed is to ask Rob & Sarah if they would like a council meeting 2 weeks before the event to finalise details.

 Officer’s Reports:

Reeve – Roger

• Maggie Forrest had paid twice for Coronation so a refund of one payment was proposed by Roger, seconded by Ed and approved.

Marshall – Roger

• Heavy fighting has been intermittent.  Looking at combining practice at HNB in Norton and using their hall to allow practice in all weathers. The hall costs about $8 per hour and practices on a Monday and Wednesday may be practical.

A&S - Liz

• The making of a bread oven at Braythwayte Manor went well. Ed reported that there are just ridge tiles and an oven door to make.

• A group banner is in progress with Liz’s sewing skills.

• Svartr came 1^st in A&S at May Crown for illumination.

Webwright- Ed

• There is now a link to join the SCA on the Cluain website after a newcomer enquired about joining.

Chatelaine - Sue

• Hayley has been attending archery and Tanya is coming to Hastilude today.

Herald – Alex

• Waiting to hear back about permission to conflict for the group badge.

Seneschal – Ed

• Nil of note. Sadly away for Midwinter Coronation.
