Officer’s Reports:

 Reeve – Roger

  • The current balance is over $5000, with some promises for St Sebastian’s payments.
  • We need to advertise for a new reeve again.

 Marshall – Roger

  • There were 3 newcomers at fighter practice last week, so we need two more loaner armour kits. Rog to check the kit he already has and considering contacting Luan an Fael who may have some available.

 A&S - Liz

  • Music, finger-loop braiding, knots and tablet weaving have been amongst A&S done at St Sebs so far.
  • Liz to check the list of attendees for Midwinter Coronation to seek likely candidates for judging the A&S competitions.

 Seneschal – Ed

  • All going well. Nice to see some new faces.

 Webwright- Ed

  • Nothing to report.

 Chatelaine - Sue

  • Having some success with newcomers attending events J
  • Webpage details for fighters’ practice needs updating to 6pm (instead of 6.30pm) – Ed to do.

 Herald – Alex

  • The Canton of Cluain badge is going to conflict with someone else, so Alex plans to ask the lady concerned for permission to do so.

 Upcoming events

 Waldorf Festival

  • Braythwaytes, Alex and Geoff plan to camp. B&B will day trip.
  • Activities: single awning to be taken for shelter.

Plans for have-a go’s for a gold coin:

-    We’ll need change for gold coins.

-    Making a pewter token  & fire lighting – Ed

-    Quill making and writing – Trent. Feathers being sorted today. Paper is available from Rog and Fina offered to draft an A5 template for writing on.

-    Boffer – Rog to check if the Knightsbridges will run this.

  • Liz will bring her harp and Elizabeth will bring a psaltery that people can try.

Midwinter Coronation  - Grim (joining meeting at this point)

  • About 50 bookings so far and likely to be more after May Crown.
  • 6 vignettes booked so far. Simple ones can be accepted last minute.
  • Most people are sorting their own accommodation. There’ve been no requests for marae style accommodation yet. The Girl Guide place on site or a marae approx 2km away may be options if required.
  • Food organisers are ticking along. Thorald is posting some of his progress on Facebook.
  • Decoration – there is nowhere to hang lanterns but wire to hang banners in the hall. We’re missing processional banners at this stage and may see if we can borrow some from Ildhafn. There are some roadside banners stored with Liz & Rog. Liz has cotton velveteen available for making a Cluain banner, which can be done at Hastilude. Alex volunteered Isaac as page boy for banner carrying. We need someone in charge of decorations by the next council meeting.
  • Printing of timetables and maps is being worked on.

  Next meeting

At Hastilude in Eureka in April.
