Activities Heraldry and Scribal Arts

Most people in the SCA have their own heraldic arms, often reflecting their interests or their persona (the character they play as within the society). You can see all of the registered arms within the Kingdom of Lochac (Australasia) here.

The heraldry used within the SCA tries to follow the principles of good heraldic practice.

People add their heraldry to shields, banners, clothing and accessories which all makes for a colourful display and gives a wonderful medieval 'feel' to events.

Calligraphy and illumination is another area of interest to many. When people are given awards in court they are often presented as scrolls which have been painstakingly hand written and painted by a team of talented scribes who reside throughout the Kingdom.
